Duvonta Lampkin Shot In Texas, Here Is The Complete Story
Du’Vonta Lampkin, a former Oklahoma football player, was discovered dead in Texas on Thursday evening.
According to the Dallas Morning News, the 25-year-old was discovered dead with a gunshot wound by the Dallas Police Department. He played defensive lineman for the Sooners from 2015 to 2017.
What Happened To Duvonta Lampkin?
Oklahoma football announced through its Twitter profile that its bright athlete Duvonta Lampkin passed away. As per their tweet, they were deeply saddened by the tragic passing of former player Du’Vonta Lampkin. They added that the player was full of life and spirit, was a supportive teammate, and a joy to be around.
The team passed sincere thoughts and prayers to his family at the end.
Lampkin went to Houston’s Cypress Falls High School. He has 81 tackles (38 for loss), 16 sacks, and eight forced fumbles as a senior. In November 2013, he committed to play football for the Oklahoma Sooners but de-committed in April 2014.
He subsequently signed a letter of intent to play for the Texas Longhorns but was unable to go owing to academic concerns. He subsequently enrolled in Oklahoma and was offered a scholarship to play football.

The Dallas Police Department said on Friday that it was investigating a homicide involving Du’Vonta Lampkin, 25, who was 25 years old. A witness went to check on Lampkin when he didn’t answer his phone calls, according to investigators. They discovered him with a gunshot wound when they arrived.
Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of S. Ervay Street around 10:10 p.m. on Thursday. Lampkin was found laying on his back with a single gunshot wound when police arrived on the scene.
Lampkin was unfortunately declared deceased at the spot. He was residing at the Airbnb while waiting to move into a new residence, according to investigators. Some of his personal goods were gone from the site, according to authorities.
