On November 25, 2003, the Phillies signed Carlos Carrasco as an undrafted free agent.
In 2007, he split time between the Double-A Reading Phillies and the Single-A Clearwater Threshers.
In the 2006, 2007, and 2008 All-Star Futures Games, he was a member of the World roster.
Carlos was the top prospect in the Phillies organization and the 41st-best prospect in MLB entering the 2007 season. In 2008, he was still considered the top prospect in the Phillies system, with the best fastball and changeup.
