Officer Chris Taylor Obituary

Officer Chris Taylor of the Wylie Police Department died suddenly on Monday, June 20, 2022. Wylie Police Department reported his death in an online posting. He passed away after a valiant fight with cancer.

Officer Chris Taylor died today, June 20th, after a long battle with cancer.” Officer Taylor has been a member of our community for approximately 24 years. Chris started his career as a reserve officer before being employed full-time as a School Resource Officer, where he protects Wylie ISD children and employees. Chris provided extra services as a member of our Crisis Negotiation Team and a Firearms Instructor in addition to his normal responsibilities.

Although he succeeded in every job he had, he will be remembered as a mentor and friend to all officers that passed through our Public Safety Building’s doors.” Those who knew Chris best characterized him as a God-fearing guy who loved Jesus, his family, friends, community, and country. Chris was a proud and professional United States Marine who served his community and nation.
