Matthew Barnett From Delta Innovative Services Freed In Daisy Coleman 2012 Case & The Internet Is Outraged

Matthew Barnett is a project manager at Delta Innovative Services. After being accused of assaulting Daisy Coleman, he became a controversial figure in 2012. 

Daisy Coleman died of suicide in 2020, and a few months after her death, her mother passed away in a similar manner. She killed herself as she was overwhelmed by the loss of her two children. Her younger son died in an accident in 2019, and Daisy also left the world in 2020. 

Daisy’s case had gained national attention and was even turned into a documentary named Audrie & Daisy. She had received a Cinema Eye Honor for the film. 

Matthew Barnett has moved on with his life and now works at Delta Innovative Services as a project manager. He owns a two-bedroom home stand and shares it with his girlfriend. He has a $55k paying job but said he would struggle with whatever happened.

He was accused of sexually assaulting Daisy Coleman but denied the allegations and said it was consensual. His family was respected in the neighborhood since he was the grandson of a well-known Republican Congressman, Rex. 

Despite the accusations and lawsuit, his charge was reduced to the less serious misdemeanor of endangering a minor. In addition, he received two years of probation.

After that, he joined the University of Central Missouri for further studies. However, administrators came under heavy fire from the public for continuing to admit a student who had allegedly committed such a crime. As a result, he dropped out, but later the university released a statement claiming that these charges were taken down and he was qualified to continue his education.

After that, he completely vanished from public sight but spoke out after Daisy Coleman’s death and her mother’s death in 2020. According to Daily Mail, he said he was sad to hear about their death. But he added that he would struggle with it since he claims he was wrongly accused.

In 2012, Daisy Coleman, 14 years old, was assaulted by Matthew Barnett, a 17-year-old teenager from Maryville, Missouri. Her 13-year-old friend was also allegedly assaulted in a similar manner by a 15-year-old guy.

After two years of the incident, the accused pleaded guilty, but the charges were dropped to a second-degree misdemeanor charge of endangering the welfare of a child. 

Even the justice they received had come after many struggles. What Verdict Did Matthew Barnett Receive?

Matthew Barnett was charged with felony assault but was convicted of a second-degree misdemeanor charge of endangering the welfare of a child. He was sentenced to four months in prison, but it was suspended in favor of two years of probation. 

He was also asked to perform community service, accept drug testing, and pay the Colemans $1,800. In addition, he was not permitted to drink alcohol and was warned that he would have to spend four months in jail if he broke the terms of his probation.
