The daughter of Scott Bernett and Kim Bernett, Lauren Bernett, a softball player of JMU, passed away at the age of 20. It was heartbreaking news that the young player lost her life at such a young age.

Her mother also played softball at Washington and Jefferson College, as per the reports. Lauren is survived by her mother, father, two brothers, and two sisters.
Moreover, she was also a member of the National Honor Society. The softball player was also associated with playing 18u since her first year.

As a sophomore catcher from McDonald, Pennsylvania, Bernett started 43 of 45 games for James Madison’s College World Series-winning team back in 2021.

The Dukes’ doubleheader against Longwood, which was set for Wednesday, has been canceled, the team stated in a tweet on Tuesday, noting that the future schedule alterations have yet to be determined.
