Eric Riebling Obituary

Eric Riebling, Affordable Floors Founding Member and Bassist, has passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday Morning, June 8, 2022. His death has been confirmed by ‘The Affordable Floors’, through an online post. The circumstances surrounding his death has not been made public at the time of this publication.

Eric Riebling Cause of Death

From the dorms of CMU to Graffiti to the clubs of New York City, for many years Eric was the pulse of the band, bringing in elements of jazz, funk, and rock that was unique. A testament to Eric’s talent was that, in the early days, the band featured bass solos (and not guitar solos).

Eric shared his skills well beyond The Affordable Floors, including George Gee’s Make-Believe Ballroom Orchestra, The Gathering Field, and Grooveshifter, among others. And while Eric left the band a number of years ago, he was and always will be a part of our family. Pittsburgh and the music world have lost a unique talent and we have lost a good friend. Our deepest condolences go to the Riebling family. May he rest in peace and may his memory be a blessing.”

He will greatly be missed by many.
