Carl Hornback Obituary
Carl Hornback Jr. “Duno”, 81, of Canadian, was welcomed into his savior’s arms on December 1, 2021, in Canadian, Texas. Carl was born April 5, 1940, in Canadian, Texas to Carl Thomas and Eva Hornback. He attended public schools in Canadian. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Canadian. Everyone knew Carl.
He was always teasing people, asking, “When are you going to pay me what you owe me?” He never met a stranger and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He had a heart the size of Texas. Carl loved everyone and he loved Canadian, where he resided all but two years of his life. He was a loving brother and friend and will be greatly missed by many.
Carl Hornback Cause of Death
Carl was employed for Hemphill County Precinct III where he was an equipment operator for twenty-two years. He retired in March of 2005. He also worked for the City of Canadian and the Canadian Mill hauling lumber from Canadian to Houston. He loved to drive up and down the highway. He would often get in his pickup in the morning and make a several-hour trip only to turn right back around and return home the same day.
