An Anacoco man surrendered himself to the police after shooting

According to the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Department around 4am on Saturday May 7, a man identified as 47-year-old  Binh The Nguyen, age of Anacoco, walked into the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office and reported that he needed to be arrested because he’d just shot his girlfriend in the hand.

Deputies spoke with Nguyen and learned that he resided in the area of East Lake Road in Anacoco.

Nguyen stated that the victim had been transported from the residence to a local medical facility by her son.

Deputies were able to confirm that the female victim was in the emergency room receiving treatment for a gun shot wound to the hand.

Detectives and Deputies spoke with the victim and she indicated that she had been asleep only to awake when Nguyen shot her in the hand.

The victim was transferred to a medical facility in Shreveport so that she could receive additional medical treatment and at last word was listed in stable condition.

Binh Nguyen was arrested and charged with one count of Attempted Second Degree Murder. Bond was set at $300,000.00. Nguyen remains in the VPSO jail.
